When a teacher or school leader creates a class, they automatically become the owner or "admin" of the class. The owner of a class is the only teacher that can transfer ownership to another teacher and the only one that can add or remove co-teachers in the class settings.
School leaders can request that the ownership of a class, owned by a teacher that is no longer at their school or is on leave, get transferred to either their account or another verified teacher at their school.
Once it has been transferred, the new owner can remove the previous owner from the class under the "Teachers" tab under "Edit Class," and they can add or remove co-teachers to the class.
To make this request, write to us at firstname.lastname@example.org and we would be happy to make the transfer once we have the appropriate information. Once the ownership transfer has been made, the new owner can follow these steps to remove the previous admin of the class:
Remove the previous owner:
- Log into the website
- Find the class you'd like to transfer and click on the class in the left-side class menu. Once the class is open, click on "Options" in the upper right corner of the screen and select “Add co-teachers.”
- Click on the "Teacher" tab and find the teacher you'd like to remove from the class and click on the downward arrow
- Select "Remove Collaborator"
