Notifications and Your Parent Account

From the Web

If you are a parent using only the ClassDojo website and not the app, you will receive email notifications. 

You will be notified via email:

  • When you receive a private message from your child’s teacher 
  • When there is a new Class Story or School Story post 
  • When your child’s teacher has approved a new Portfolio post 
  • When a teacher has scheduled reminders for Class or School Events

If you no longer want email notification you can download the ClassDojo app to receive push notifications instead. You can also click “unsubscribe” at the bottom of any ClassDojo notification email to remove yourself from all future email notifications (you will still receive marketing and other types of emails, unless you unsubscribe from that group as well).

If you are not receiving email notifications but do not use the app and have not unsubscribed we would suggest making sure these emails are not going to a spam or junk folder. Additionally, you should make sure that you are checking the email account that matches the email address your ClassDojo account is under.

iOS

When you download the ClassDojo app, you will have the option to enable push notifications for the app. As long as you remain logged into your ClassDojo account and have enabled push notifications, you will receive notifications on your device. 

You will be sent a push notification:

  • When you receive a private message from your child’s teacher 
  • When there is a new Class Story or School Story post 
  • When your child’s teacher has approved a new Portfolio post 
  • When a teacher has scheduled reminders for Class or School Events

You can enable or disable notifications in your device settings (please note this is not in the ClassDojo app but rather in your device’s app settings).

If you are not receiving push notifications on your device, we would suggest making sure that you are logged into your account on the app and that your notifications for ClassDojo are fully enabled.
