Sounds are not working

From the Web

To start things off, check and make sure that someone hasn't accidentally turned off the sounds in the "Settings" of your class:

      1. Open the class in which you're not hearing sounds
      2. Click the "Display Settings" button in the top right of the screen
      3. Scroll down to find "Play Award Sounds" and make sure both boxes are checked

If that's not the issue, here are some additional steps you can take:

Make sure your computer is running the latest version of Adobe Flash. You can do this here.

See if you can recreate this issue when using THE LATEST VERSION of Google Chrome (this is the most powerful browser and will run our site the best. You can download Chrome for free here.

If you're using Chrome, you can check your browser version here.

Check if the sounds work from your home computer when connect to your personal internet. Sometimes schools accidentally block access to our servers and the sound will not work. If that's the case it should be a super quick fix for your IT department.

iOS

Please note that sounds will not play on your iPad if you are running ClassDojo on a web browser. You'll need to use the ClassDojo iOS app. Download the app through iTunes or by going here.

If you're using an iPhone, please do the following:

  1. Make sure that your device's volume is on and turned up (not set to silent or vibrate)
  2. Click on the "Settings" app
  3. Scroll down and tap on the "ClassDojo" app
  4. Tap on "Notifications"
  5. Ensure that "Sounds" are turned on

If you're using an iPad and the instructions above don't fix the problem, please also check the following:

  1. Click on the "Settings" app
  2. Select "Sounds"
  3. Ensure that you allow the sound to "Change with Buttons"
  4. Using the buttons on the side of the iPad, turn the volume up

If these suggestions still don't work:

  • Try giving a point from home to see if the sounds work. This will rule out any accidental blocks coming from your school's network.

Android

Make sure that your device's volume is on and turned up (not set to silent or vibrate)

Be sure to check that the sound settings on your device are turned on. To do this:

  1. Click on the "Settings" button from your App Manager screen
  2. Click on "Sound and Notification"
  3. Check that "Media volume" is turned up

If this doesn't work:

  • Try giving a point from home to see if the sounds work. This will rule out any accidental blocks coming from your school's network.
  • If you continue to have issues, please contact us HERE so we can work with you one-on-one to resolve the issue.
