Sounds Are Not Working

Web, iOS, Android

From the Web

To start things off, check and make sure your computer's sound is on and that your speakers are turned up. Next, check that someone hasn't accidentally turned off the sounds in the “Display settings" of your class:

      1. Open your class
      2. Click on "Options" then select "Display settings"
      3. Scroll down to find "Play award sounds" and make sure both boxes are checked

If that's not the issue, here are some additional steps you can take:

See if you can recreate this issue when using the latest version of Google Chrome (this is the most powerful browser and will run our site the best. You can download Chrome for free here.

If you're using Chrome, you can check your browser version here.

Check if the sounds work from your home computer when connected to your personal internet. Sometimes schools accidentally block access to our servers and the sound will not work. If this is the case, it should be a super quick fix for your IT department.

  2. Tap on the "Settings" app
  3. Scroll down and tap on the "ClassDojo" app
  4. Tap on "Notifications"

If you're using an iOS device and the instructions above don't fix the problem, please also check the following:

  1. Tap on the "Settings" app
  2. Select "Sounds"
  3. Ensure that you allow the sound to "Change with Buttons"
  4. Using the buttons on the side of your iOS device, turn the volume up

If these suggestions still don't work:

  • Try giving a point from home to see if the sounds work. This will rule out any accidental blocks coming from your school's network.
  • If you continue to have issues, please contact us here so we can work with you one-on-one to resolve the issue.
