Add or create a class

Web, iOS, Android

From the Web

  1. Click on the "Add a Class" tile
  2. Choose a class icon, enter a name for your class, and select your class grade level or year
  3. Click the blue “Next” button
  4. Enter student's first and last name.  You'll see a drop down appear. If there's a matching student from Directory you'll see a "Matches from Directory" notice, then the name of the student and the name of the last class the student was in (or the current class they are in).  Below that will be an "Add ..." option. Selecting the option with the class name will import from Directory, selecting the "Add..." option will add the student as-new.  If you're connected to a school, students who are already in your School Directory should auto-populate as you enter the first few letters of their name.                                 Add_Student.png
  5. The next step will help you connect with parents and students by downloading invitations
  6. Next, create customized skills or click “Finish” to skip 

iOS

  1. Click the “+ Add a new class” button
  2. Name your class, set the grade level, and select an icon from the list
  3. Click the blue “Next” button
  4. Enter students' names and click "+ Add" to add a new student not in your school's directory.  If you're connected to a school, student names should auto-populate as you enter the the first few  letters of a name.  To add students from the auto-populated list, press enter when the student's name pops up or click on the student name from the list. 
  5. Click "Next" after you've entered all student names
  6. Add new skills, or edit existing skills
  7. Click "Next"
  8. Select "Download and print all invites"

Android 

  1. Click the “+ Add a new class” button
  2. Name your class, set the grade level, and select an icon from the list
  3. Click the blue “Create” button
Option 1: If you have many students, we recommend continuing on the computer
  • To do this, press "yes, continue on computer"
  • On your computer go to "www.classdojo.com/connect"
  • Point your camera at the blue QR code on your computer screen
  • Follow the prompts to add students, print invitations and customize behaviors
Option 2: If you're not near a computer you can continue on your mobile device 
  • Press "I'm not near a computer" to enter your new class
  • To add students press on the blue "+Add students" button
  • To add behaviors click on the three-dot button in the upper right hand corner and select "edit feedback types"
  • To add parents, click on the "Parents" tab and press "Get parent invites" or click on each student individually to invite them by email
