How to Create a Class Chat for Families in your Class

Web, iOS, Android

Note: This article walks through the steps for enabling or disabling Class Chats at the class-level. School Leaders and Admins can enable or disable Class Chats for the entire school from the School Settings. For more information on that, please see this article.

From the Web

Class Chat is a great way to easily bring all your class parents together in one place so you can stop answering the same questions over and over — and let families coordinate birthdays and playdates. Teachers are always in control: you can remove parents from Class Chat or turn it off at any time.

Here’s how to turn on Class Chat:

  1. Open your class

  4. Visit your class’s Messages tab to see the Class chat with all of your class families automatically added

  5. If you wish to turn off Class Chat, visit class settings and turn Class Chat off. You can also remove individual parents from Class chat instead of turning it off completely.

Please note: If you are not able to turn Class Chat on, it is possible that this has been disabled at the schoolwide level by your School Leader or Admin. Please reach out to that user to ask about enabling this feature for your school.
